The reigning NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series champions continued to display their championship form throughout the 2015 season and proved it again on Sunday at the NHRA Summernationals in Englishtown, N.J.

After qualifying fourth in an ultra-quick Funny Car field filled with 3-second times in qualifying on Friday night, Matt Hagan and the Mopar Express Lane/Rocky Boots team worked their way through a tough eliminations day en route to their third event title of the season and 17th of Matt’s career while reclaiming the Funny Car points lead.

After losing in the first round the last three times he was at the fabled track, Antron Brown and the Matco Tools team dominated the weekend. Brown started Sunday as the No. 1 qualifier for the third consecutive race and the 40th time in his career, and went on to take the checkered flag for the Top Fuel class. Read more here.

Over the weekend in Englishtown, NJ, Brittany Force raced to a final round in Top Fuel for the fifth time in her career and the first time since the Reading, Pa., NHRA National event last season. Her bid to become the eighth woman to win a Top Fuel title came up just short against New Jersey native Antron Brown when her dragster shook the tires coming off the starting line. Force qualified No. 6 and worked her way to the final round by defeating Richie Crampton, Tony Schumacher and Terry McMillen. Read more here.

Tommy DeLago tuned DeJoria down the track in just 4.046 seconds, which placed her fourth after the first session. That run allowed the Patrón XO Café Incendio team to work on the raceday package throughout the final three sessions. DeJoria ended up dropping to tenth, and drew Topeka winner Jack Beckman in round one. Read more here.
