Race Recap: Johnson, Earnhardt finish back-to-back in Chase opener
September 20, Joliet, IL

The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup is underway, and three Hendrick Motorsports drivers finished inside the top 14. At Chicagoland Speedway, Jimmie Johnson led the way in 11th, with Dale Earnhardt Jr. just behind him in 12th. Jeff Gordon, who led 40 laps, got caught up in a restart with five laps remaining and finished 14th. Kasey Kahne took the checkered flag in 24th. Denny Hamlin won the Chase-opening event. Schumacher advances to semifinal, Brown wins second Charlotte NHRA event of 2015

The battle lines have been drawn in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series six-race Countdown to the Championship. With the first race in the books, U.S. Army teammates Tony “The Sarge” Schumacher and Antron Brown have established themselves as the drivers to beat in the mission to become the 2015 Top Fuel world champion. Schumacher opened the Countdown by reaching the semifinal round of the NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMAX Dragway near Charlotte. Brown raced past Schumacher in their semifinal matchup and defeated J.R. Todd in the final to grab the lead in the championship standings. Read more >

John Force races to semi-finals at North Carolina Nationals
September 18-20, Charlotte, NC

The Countdown to the Championship began today at zMax Dragway and 16-time Funny Car champion John Force, driving a Jeff Gordon Tribute Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car, raced to the semi-finals and established himself as a championship contender once again. As the No. 6 qualifier Force took out John Hale and Ron Capps in the opening two rounds. In the semi-finals against No. 2 qualifier Del Worsham Force dropped a close race 4.148 to 4.138 seconds. This was the first time Force has faced Worsham at the Carolina Nationals but the 143-time winner was 50-25 against the veteran driver before today’s race. Read more >

Worsham victory caps stellar start to the NHRA Countdown for Kalitta Motorsports
September 18-20, Charlotte, NC

Del Worsham, driver of the DHL Toyota Camry Funny Car, earned his first win of the season and took over the points lead earlier today in Charlotte. That ended a stellar day for Kalitta Motorsports with ten total round wins and every Team Kalitta driver advancing out of the first round.
Worsham proved as the car to beat throughout qualifying. He earned four bonus points and was the only driver in the class to make it down the track in all four qualifying sessions. His best, a 3.993, earned him the second starting spot and a date with Dave Richards in the first round. Read more >
